Fort Lewis College announces that Sitter Family Hall received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council in July.
The certification recognizes the building’s efficiency, sustainability and environmental impact through the design, construction process and daily operations.
Sitter Family Hall reached these benchmarks:
86.90 percent of construction waste generated on-site was diverted from landfills.30.11 percent of the total building materials content, by value, was manufactured using recycled materials.25.85 percent of the total building materials content, by value, includes materials and products, were extracted, harvested, recovered or manufactured regionally.The highest possible score for innovation in design was reached.For more information, visit www.fortlewis.edu.
