SJBPH launches COVID vax challenge

San Juan Basin Public Health on Wednesday announced the Jr. Heroes COVID-19 Vax Challenge, which incentivizes local youths to share scientific information about COVID-19 and the vaccines through an artistic medium.

Archuleta and La Plata county youths between ages 12 and 17 are eligible to participate. Individuals will receive a $100 gift card for completing an eligible project. Teams of three or more will receive a maximum of $300 total in incentives.

The challenge period will begin Tuesday, Dec. 28. Proposals will be accepted through Jan. 19 or until a maximum number of proposals are submitted.

Final projects are due Feb. 4 and will be shared online through contestant’s social media accounts as well as exhibitions in both counties.
