Ska to get charitable for 2018 ‘Token Tuesdays’ program

Draft beer in 2018 will donate $1 to charities, nonprofits
Ska Brewing Co. will be kicking off its Token Tuesdays program on Tuesday.

Ska Brewing Co. will launch its philanthropic “Token Tuesdays” program on Tuesday to raise funds for local charities and nonprofits one day a week through 2018.

Every Tuesday in 2018, customers who purchase a draft beer at Ska will receive a token to put into a donation jar, and each token counted at the end of the day will give $1 to a featured local charity or nonprofit. Two organizations, from the 24 total that have been selected, will benefit from Token Tuesdays each month.

“‘Community Reigns Supreme’ is one of our core values at Ska,” Kristen Muraro, Ska marketing director, said in a news release. “In the new year, we will continue bringing it back to our roots. The new Token Tuesdays effort is our way of focusing our charitable efforts in a way that benefit a wider range of organizations in our local community.”

The first Token Tuesday will be Jan. 2 at Ska Brewing Co., 225 Girard St.

Applications are open through 2018, and Ska will give special consideration to nonprofits that serve the Durango area. The calendar of beneficiaries will be announced monthly on social media. Application criteria requires beneficiaries to drive Token Tuesday traffic to the tasting room.
