Alexis Skarda of Grand Junction sped her way to the finish line to win the Mountain Bike Specialist Cross Country mountain bike race Sunday on the second day of the 45th Iron Horse Bicycle Classic.
Dressed in her pink Stan’s No Tubes Elite Team kit, Skarda won with a time of 1 hour, 35 minutes, 40.2 seconds, nearly a full minute ahead of Durango’s Liz Carrington, who took second in 1:36:44.5.
Last year’s winner, Hannah Williams, took third in 1:37:45.0.
