After splitting an opening-day doubleheader at a tournament at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas, the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks’ volleyball team dropped its first match and trailed its second a day later.
No. 10 Washburn (3-0) beat FLC (1-3) 25-18, 25-17, 25-12 on Saturday morning, then Cameron beat FLC 25-15, 25-21, 21-25, 25-14 in the Skyhawks’ fourth match in two days.
Washburn attacked FLC at a .207 clip in their victory, including a .440 mark in the deciding third set.
Natalie Bates and Liz Powell finished with 17 and 15 assists, respectively, and Leanna Willer had a team-high 13 kills for the top-10 side.
Ashley Wells had 10 digs and an FLC-high eight kills in the loss.
Ally Dell’Amico led FLC with 17 digs, and Heather Danny had a team-high 19 assists in the loss.
Against Cameron, Wells had 15 digs and a team-high 11 kills. Dell’Amico again led FLC with 20 digs, and Ciara Krening had a team-high 30 assists in the Skyhawks’ loss.
