The Fort Lewis College volleyball team entered the weekend on a four-match winning streak. The Skyhawks came out of it with a less desireable streak.
FLC lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-18) to No. 18 Colorado Mines on Saturday in Golden one day after losing 3-0 to Colorado Christian in Lakewood.
Hannah Starbuck led FLC (5-13, 5-4 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) with seven kills, while Jenna Kinzer had 10 digs and Heather Danny 12 assists.
The Skyhawks managed an attack percentage of only .111 against .259 for the Orediggers (16-4, 10-1 RMAC).
The Orediggers had 50 kills to just 25 for FLC, led by 14 from Melanie Wannamaker and 12 from Alanna Winfield. Hannah Margheim had 12 digs for Mines, and Danielle Johnson-Hazelwood had 35 assists.
FLC volleyball will return home to host Metro State at 7 p.m. Friday at Whalen Gym. The Skyhawks will play Regis at 5 p.m. Saturday at Whalen Gym.
