Slash to be burned Thursday north of Mancos

Fire crews plan to burn 100 slash piles on 60 acres of National Forest land in the Chicken Creek area.

The project will take place near the San Juan National Forest boundary, where Montezuma County Road 41 and Forest Road 385 merge, approximately five miles north of Mancos.
