Slight chance of rain for Saturday in Durango

Mountains may see 2 to 4 inches

A weak storm front may come through Durango on Saturday, dropping light moisture in town.

“We’re only anticipating a tenth of an inch of rain in town, mostly around noon,” said meteorologist Dennis Phillips with the Grand Junction office of the National Weather Service. “Higher elevations, like Molas (Pass) and Coal Bank (Pass) may see 2 to 4 inches of snow.”

A second weak front may come through the area Monday and Monday night, but the chances of precipitation are only 30 percent.

This week’s balmy temperatures are also going to cool down, the weather service said. Highs are forecasted to be in the high 40s and low 50s through Friday.
