A small wildfire possibly caused by lightning Wednesday afternoon quickly died down and was being tended by a hand crew.
A thin plume of smoke was visible near Overend Park, west of Durango and north of Hogsback Ridge, about 5 p.m.
The Durango Fire Protection District sent three brush trucks, an engine truck and seven crew members, said spokesman Scott Davis.
The blaze was reported to be one-tenth of an acre in size, Davis said.
As of 6 p.m. the smoke had died down and some crew members were leaving the scene.
