For the first time at Fort Lewis College, new head coach John L. Smith was able to get his hands on kicker/punter Steven Andrews and the Skyhawks’ football team in pads. Smith, who coached at Division I Arkansas last fall in the Southeastern Conference, was hired at Division II FLC in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to cure last year’s 0-10 team. He coached the annual spring scrimmage Saturday at Ray Dennison Memorial Field.
