The 900 block of Main Avenue was closed to traffic from 10:30 a.m. Sunday to around noon after a report of smoke and the smell of an electrical fire at Mountain Bike Specialists.

Justin Wikes, acting battalion commander with Durango Fire Protection District, said a crew of about a dozen firefighters investigated at the scene, but could not find the source of the smoke or the smell.

John Glover, general manager at Mountain Bike Specialists, said the strong odor and smoke appeared in the shop around 10 a.m., prompting the call to DFPD.

The strength of the odor intensified around 11:15 a.m., but, again, firefighters could not locate the source.

Several firefighters searched the attic looking for hot spots, but none was found.
