The sun begins breaking through a winter storm that walloped the area on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, dropping a foot or two of powder in the Pine River Valley. Clear skies and highs in the 30s are forecast to stay in the area this weekend, with another chance of snow arriving Saturday night and Sunday.
