The kickoff for the Snowdown beard-growing competition, a three-month “beard race” from Nov. 10 to Feb. 1, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, at Carver Brewing Co., 1022 Main Ave.
Contestants should arrive with facial hair freshly shaved to have their “before” head shot taken. A panel of judges will select a winner Feb. 1 during Snowdown festivities. Judges will also award prizes for best color, longest beard and best beer-absorption beard for men, and best leg hair for women.
The competition is free, and open to those 21 and older.
