Snowdown calendar of events for Friday

Friday, Jan. 30

Snowdown T-Shirt Day, all day, Magpie's Newsstand & Café, 707 Main Ave. Free. Wear your official Snowdown 2026-themed shirt or stop by Magpie's to purchase buttons, hats, shirts, and posters to get in the spirit. All ages.

Scavenger Hunt Judging, 10 a.m., Durango American Legion, 878 East Second Ave. Free. Official judging for the scavenger hunt participants. All ages.

Kan Jam, 11:30 a.m., Balcony Bar and Grill, 600 Main Ave. Free. Grab a partner and toss the Frisbee in this annual competition. Must be 18 and older.

Super Sexy Car Wash, 2 p.m., 11th Street Station, 1101 Main Ave. Free. Show off your best dance moves and carwashing ability in a three-minute performance for the judges. Must be 21 and older.

The Parade Pit Stop, 3-6 p.m., The Garage, 121 W. Eighth St. $1. A mini carnival featuring quick games like ring toss and pin-the-tail. Family-friendly with prizes for everyone. All ages.

Button Making, 3:30 p.m., Durango Public Library, 1900 East Third Ave. Free. Create your own custom Snowdown-themed buttons with all supplies provided. All ages.

Chili Cookoff & Bloody Mary Pre-Sale, 3:30-4:30 p.m., El Rancho Tavern, 975 Main Ave. $1-$2. Skip the Saturday lines by purchasing chili ($1) and Bloody Mary ($2) tickets early. Cash only. Must be 21 and older.

Pier Relay, 4 p.m., Oye, 1017 Main Ave. $50 per team. A four-person relay race involving slurping oysters and chugging beverages followed by a dash down Main Ave. Must be 21 and older.

Beer Puppeteer, 4 p.m., Carver Brewing Co., 1022 Main Ave. Free. Teams of two compete in a puppetry performance combined with local craft beer. Must be 21 and older.

Beer Mile, 4 p.m., Cork & Larder, 120 W. Eighth St. Free. Run, snowshoe, or ski a mile through downtown, chugging at various checkpoints along the way. Must be 21 and older.

Ceramic Handle Pull-Off, 4 p.m., Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave. Free. A clay competition where participants face off in categories like longest and girthiest handle pulling. Must be 18 and older.

Spaghetti Dinner, 5 p.m., Elks Lodge #507, 901 East Second Ave. $5-$10. A full meal of spaghetti, meatballs, salad, and bread served before and after the parade. All ages.

Kid Joke Jam, 5 p.m., EsoTerra Cider & Wines, 558 Main Ave. Free. Young comedians perform historical or hysterical one-liner jokes. Ages 17 and under.

Dance for a Discount, 5 p.m., Hermosa Cafe, 738 Main Ave. Free to enter. Show off your dance moves to receive a $1, $2, or $3 discount on Snowdown special shots. Must be 21 and older.

Red Ball Express, 5:45 p.m., Downtown Durango, 1099 Main Ave. $5 per ball. A high-stakes fundraising game of chance where you can win up to $5,000 for local nonprofits. Must be 18 and older.

Snowdown Light Parade, 6 p.m., Main Avenue. Free. Durango’s only nighttime parade featuring brightly lit floats celebrating Colorado’s 150th anniversary. Music in the Mountains will partner with Durango Snowdown to present a dazzling 500-drone aerial show during the parade. “This will be the largest drone show Durango has ever presented, transforming the winter night into a spectacular canvas of light, artistry, and imagination,” Music in the Mountain said in a release. All ages.

Magic Carpet Ride, 6 p.m., Starlight Lounge, 937 Main Ave. Free. Race to the finish line on a “magic carpet” to win bar tabs and free drinks. Must be 21 and older.

Boomer Hot Dog & Rail Jam, 7-9 p.m., Chapman Hill, 500 Florida Road $25. Skiers and snowboarders compete in a technical ability and style showcase. Ages 14 and older.

Snowdown Follies Videocast, 7 and 10 p.m., Animas City Theatre, 128 E. College Drive. $15. A big-screen viewing of the live Follies performance. Must be 21 and older.

Dance Party, 7 p.m., EsoTerra Cider & Wines, 558 Main Ave. Free. A post-parade celebration featuring live beats from Nu Bass Theory. Must be 21 and older.

Dance Thru The Decades, 7 p.m., Lola's Place, 725 East Second Ave. Free. A musical journey from retro classics to modern hits with themed cocktails and era attire. All ages.

Twister Tournament, 7 p.m., The Subterrain, 900 Main Ave. $10. An all-out Twister competition with prizes awarded each round. Participants must be 18 and older.

Battle of the DJs, 8 p.m., American Legion, 878 East Second Ave. $10. DJs perform 30-minute live sets to win over the audience and judges. All ages until 10 p.m.

Tortilla Slap, 8 p.m., Los Amigos Del Sur, 835 Main Ave. $10. The 3rd annual competition where contestants slap their way to a custom tortilla cape. Must be 18 and older.

Flippy Cup, 8:30 p.m., Starlight Lounge, 937 Main Ave. Free. A coordination test in a classic saloon setting with bar tabs for the winners. Must be 21 and older.

Head-to-Head Silent Disco, 9 p.m., 11th Street Station, 1101 Main Ave. Free. A head-to-head battle where two DJs play on separate channels and the crowd chooses the vibe. Must be 21 and older.

Pole Dancing Contest, 9 p.m., Wild Horse Saloon, 601 East Second Ave. $5 cover. A lively performance competition at Durango's local saloon. Must be 18 and older.

Cake Walk, 10 p.m., Starlight Lounge, 937 Main Ave. Free. A dance and “booty call” competition where the best movers win bar tabs. Must be 21 and older.
