Snowdown Light Parade winners announced

Dogs playing cards rode on Santé Durango’s float during the 2018 Snowdown Light Parade on Friday. Santé took first place for Best Use of Theme.

For the second consecutive year, the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad took top spot for Best in Parade at the Snowdown Light Parade.

The Colorado Department of Transportation’s float, “Orange is the New Black,” came in second and Purgatory Resort took third.

Best Use of Theme went to Santé, with Axiom Cycling’s float coming in second.

The Best Use of Lights category had Jazzercize’s float at No. 1, followed by Dancing Divas and Fire Dancers.

Cajun/Mardi Gras and 4 Corners Broadcasting took first and second, respectively, for the Best Bridge category.

“#64e” was the top ranked for Best Balloon, followed by Durango Balloon Co.

McDonald’s won the Best Children’s entry, followed by Durango Martial Arts Academy and Gymnastics.

And the Best What the (expletive) Was That? entry had Lou’s B&B – Santa Dinosaur at No. 1, and BOPE – Red Neck Wedding at No. 2.
