The Snowdown Prize Patrol will be hitting the streets of Durango and La Plata County in an effort to solicit prizes for the 161 events that will be included in the Rockin’ Snowdown 2020 Schedule of Events.
Since its inception in 1973, one of Snowdown’s motivating principles is to encourage participation. One of the ways Snowdown pursues this intention is to make events free; or, at the least possible cost, so that expense is a minimal factor in people’s participation. As the number of events grew, the need for prizes did as well. So, the Snowdown Prize Patrol was established, to seek prize donations for the many free events included, avoiding the possibility of local businesses and merchants being approached by event hosts seeking prize donations.
