Snowdown Sneer delivered in the dark of night

The much-loved, much-hated, much-mysterious Snowdown Sneer has hit the streets of Durango. The Sneer is the annual satirical (although there is truth in jest) newspaper that just happens to come out around the time of Snowdown, even though its unnamed creator(s) says it is not a product of Snowdown organizers. Huh?

Anyway, true to its roots, this year’s Sneer is full of potshots at the usual sacred cows and perennial social and economic issues in Durango. Anything controversial in the last year gets a good ribbing: Lake Nighthorse, organic parks, outgoing Fort Lewis College officials, the fire protection district – and much more.

Pick up your Sneer in various downtown businesses. We’d tell you where, exactly, but the Sneer doesn’t have a phone. Or a staff. Or an office ... but that’s beside the point.
