The Durango High School softball team started its season on Tuesday, but it didn’t get very far.
Alamosa’s Mean Moose took an early lead with a run in the top of the first inning. After Ellie Casias singled for Durango with two outs in the bottom of the first, however, the game was delayed by lightning.
After a couple more lightning delays, the game eventually had to be postponed until a later date, to be decided.
The Demons will now play their first game of the season on Saturday when Southwestern League foe Montrose visits. That game is scheduled for a noon start at DHS.
