Some city of Durango facilities will be closed to the public Wednesday

City of Durango facilities and buildings – including City Hall, River City Hall, police station and substation and the Recycling Center – will be closed to the public Wednesday.

Durango-La Plata County Airport and recreation facilities – including Durango Community Recreation Center, Chapman Hill and Durango Gymnastics – will be open. Durango Public Library will have regular curbside hours. Durango Transit will operate, but the Transit Center will be closed.

The closures are a cautionary measure in response to concerns about potential violence targeting state capitals Wednesday. Durango Police Department has been coordinating with local, state and federal agencies to determine if there is any threat to city of Durango facilities. As of now, the city has not received any credible threat.
