Annual event celebrates arrival of summer
The Southern Ute Bear Dance starts Friday and runs through Monday at the Bear Dance grounds in Ignacio.
While visitors are welcome to come watch the dance and festivities, photography and video recording is prohibited, except for members of the Ute tribes.
The blessing of the corral is at 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Bear Dance Feast is at noon on Monday. The Bear Dance Chief is Matthew Box.
