Southwest Endoscopy Center named one of top ambulatory surgery centers

Southwest Endoscopy Center has been named one of the top ambulatory surgery centers in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 rankings. The center is one of only 16 facilities in Colorado to earn this distinction.

The annual Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers report evaluated 4,357 centers nationwide, recognizing just 740 (approximately 17%) for their outstanding performance across four specialty service lines: colonoscopy and endoscopy, ophthalmology, orthopedics and spine, and urology. Southwest Endoscopy Center was honored for its excellence in colonoscopy and endoscopy services.

Ambulatory surgery centers like Southwest Endoscopy Center specialize in same-day surgical care, offering patients a more convenient alternative to hospital-based procedures. Rankings were determined based on objective, risk-adjusted performance measures, including patient outcomes, complication rates, unplanned hospital visits and other safety metrics.

Since opening in 2001, the Medicare-certified facility has performed nearly 50,000 endoscopic procedures, helping improve digestive health and detect diseases early for thousands of patients.

Southwest Endoscopy Center is a part of Animas Surgical Hospital and is physician-owned.
