Patricia Johnson was hired as interim library director of the Southwest La Plata Library District, which includes the Fort Lewis Mesa and Sunnyside libraries.

Her duties include providing oversight of the two libraries in the district and working to expand programming for the public.

Tricia Winslow was hired as manager of the Sunnyside Branch, located within Sunnyside Elementary. Chris Conrad continues as manager of the Fort Lewis Mesa branch, located within Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary.

The Fort Lewis Mesa and Sunnyside libraries are open to the public from 2:15 to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday for in-person services. Patrons may check out books, DVDs, CDs and audio books. Public computers and internet service are also available. Patrons are asked to wear a mask and practice appropriate social distancing while using the libraries.
