Southwest Midwives welcomed three new team members to the practice.
Haley Yerxa completed her nurse-midwifery studies at Yale School of Nursing. Before moving to Durango, she practiced midwifery in Alaska in birth center and hospital settings.
Colleen Williams earned her master’s degree in nurse-midwifery from Bethel University. She comes from a large family and has a family legacy in midwifery with a grandmother who served as a midwife in Boston.
Carole Nighswander graduated from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics and the National College of Midwifery. She practiced home-birth midwifery throughout the Four Corners for many years. She obtained her bachelor’s in nursing followed by her master’s in nurse-midwifery from the University of Colorado.
