Speeders, not speed bumps, are the problem

It might be worth noting that someone has already been killed on Animas View Drive. They were killed because the driver was going too fast or was inattentive, not because of speed bumps.

Unfortunately, Animas view Drive is a city street that drives like a county road. People walking dogs, many driveways onto the street, and lots of cyclists are all characteristics of city streets transposed onto this road.

I commend the city for trying to do something about this dangerous road with the speed bumps and encourage them to do even more. How about some speed cameras? Any driver who is forced to swerve around the speed bumps is likely going too fast.

As a cyclist, pedestrian and an occasional driver on this road can we all just chill out and take a few seconds to drive slowly around our neighbors?
