Durango Danger bridges the gap to DHS softball

Spring softball season is just around the corner, and the Durango Danger Fast Pitch Softball season banquet will bridge the gap between the fall and spring seasons.

It will take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the St. Columba School gymnasium. St. Columba will provide a main dish, but attendees should bring a dessert or side dish.

Attendees can obtain information about the 2014 season and register for both programs. There will be a Durango High School softball presentation as well as an equipment swap table where apparel can be sold or traded.

Durango DEVO sets dates for its eighth season

Durango DEVO’s youch cycling program enters its eighth season this year.

Registration for the spring season will open at 7 p.m. Monday. There also will be a team information night for the upper-level programs at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Durango Community Recreation Center.

Top Secret Training Camp registration for middle school and high school athletes will open March 10.

Summer camp registration will open at 7 p.m. April 1.

The bike swap is May 3.

Mountain Bike Specialists has upcoming clinics

Never fear faulty tires again.

Moutain Bike Specialists is holding two upcoming basic flat repair clinics from 6 to 7 p.m. March 5 and 19.

Both dates are Wednesdays.

The class will teach how to prevent flats, remove and reinstall wheels, replace the tube, use inflation devices and how to deal with blowouts.

Mountain Bike Specialists is located at 949 Main Avenue in Durango.

CSU brings Division I volleyball clinic to Durango

Four Corners Volleyball Club and the Colorado State University volleyball team are coming together to host a clinic at 1 p.m. March 9 at Durango High School.

The CSU Rams Day Clinic is open to all girls ages 13-18 and will be hosted by CSU associate head coach Brooke Coulter.

It will take place across two sessions from 1 to 6 p.m.

Space is limited to the first 30 registrants, and no walk-ins will be accepted.

The camp will cost $50.

‘March Madness’ comes to Farmington, too

Navajo Preparatory will hold the March Madness Youth Basketball Tournament on March 21-23 in Farmington.

There will be 10-and-under coed, 12-and-under boys and girls and 14-and-under boys and girls divisions.

The entry fee is $120 per team.

The tournament will have 10-player rosters for eight-team brackets. It’s double elimination, with a winner-teak-all championship game. There will be awards for first through third place.

The deadline to enter is March 19.

Golf with Grace in May at The Glacier Club

The Glacier Club will host the fourth annual Golf with Grace tournament May 23.

All proceeds from the tournament will go to the scholarship fund and operating needs for the Grace Prepatory Academy.

There will be closest to the hole, longest drive and hole-in-one contests included with the tournament.
