Nuggets’ Lawson arrested on suspicion of harassment
DENVER – Court records show Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson was arrested on suspicion of charges, including harassment.
KUSA-TV in Denver reported that according to Arapahoe County sheriff’s officials, Lawson and his girlfriend each will face charges after a fight Saturday night.
The Denver Post reported Lawson was arraigned Monday. He is free on bond.
Details of the arrest weren’t immediately available Monday night.
Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly said in a written statement that the team was “fully aware” of the incident, but that, per team policy and out of respect for the legal process, the team would have no further comment.
Lawson signed a four-year contract extension with the team last October. He averaged 16.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.47 steals in 73 games last season.

Pistorius indicted Monday; trial set for March 3
PRETORIA, South Africa – Witnesses heard a woman screaming before gunshots fired by Oscar Pistorius killed his girlfriend early on Valentines’ Day, South African prosecutors said Monday, contradicting the Paralympic champion’s version of events as he was indicted for premeditated murder.
Pistorius, who was in court for the indictment and wept before proceedings began, also will face a charge of illegal possession of ammunition when he goes on trial March 3 in the South African capital, Pretoria.
The much-awaited indictment in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court yielded new detail about how prosecutors will pursue a case that has gripped the world because of the celebrity status of Pistorius, who overcame the loss of both his legs as a child to become a global phenomenon and Olympic competitor. His girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, a model and budding reality TV show star, would have celebrated her 30th birthday on Monday.
Pistorius has said he thought Steenkamp was in bed, and he shouted at her to call the police, believing there was a dangerous intruder in his bathroom, and that he didn’t know she was in the toilet cubicle when he fired through its door four times. He said he shouted at her to call the police but not that she screamed.

Classmate sues Braun, opens look into his PED use
MILWAUKEE – A former college classmate sued Ryan Braun, saying the Brewers slugger sought his help in fighting a failed drug test, balked on paying him and disparaged him when asked why their friendship soured.
Ralph Sasson, a Milwaukee law student, said Braun’s agent hired him in November 2011 to do legal research aimed at clearing Braun after the left fielder tested positive for steroid use. The agent later asked him to investigate the man who collected Braun’s urine, Dino Laurenzi Jr., and Braun personally asked him to prank call two journalists working on a story about the failed test, according to the lawsuit filed last month in Milwaukee County court.

Could Montoya make a move back to open wheel?
BROOKLYN, Mich. – No matter what kind of car he’s in next year, Juan Pablo Montoya is eager to start winning again.
That was the message the 37-year-old driver repeated throughout a brief session with reporters Friday at Michigan International Speedway. Montoya won’t be back with longtime team owner Chip Ganassi for an eighth NASCAR season, and the Colombian driver’s future is very much up in the air.
Montoya is one of the world’s most decorated drivers, with an Indianapolis 500 victory and wins in Formula One, NASCAR and the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. But his results in NASCAR have been underwhelming. He has two wins in 239 career starts, and his best season finish was eighth in 2009.
