Kyle Busch is 2-for-2 in Fort Worth, Texas

FORT WORTH, Texas – Kyle Busch won the Nationwide Series race at Texas on Saturday, giving him a chance for a tripleheader sweep this weekend.

It was Busch’s 141st victory in NASCAR’s top three series and record-extending 70th in the Nationwide Series. He also has won 29 times in the Sprint Cup series, and his 42nd victory in the Camping World Truck Series came Friday night at the high-banked, 1½-mile track.

Busch led 116 of 200 laps and finished 1½ seconds ahead of Joey Logano, giving Joe Gibbs Racing its 100th Nationwide victory.

Busch will start ninth in the Sprint Cup race Sunday.

Nationwide season leader Chase Elliott finished fourth, moving 48 points ahead of Regan Smith with two races left.

Rockies turn down Anderson’s option

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies declined left-handed starter Brett Anderson’s $12-million option for 2015 on Saturday. The Rockies will pay Anderson a $1.5-million buyout, and he became a free agent.

Anderson went 1-3 with a 2.91 earned-run average in an injury-filled season, his first in Colorado after a five-year stay with the Oakland Athletics.

Anderson had two stints on the 60-day disabled list. The first was with a fractured left index finger and the second with lower back problems. He ended up starting just eight games, finishing with 29 strikeouts and 13 walks.

Anderson is 27-32 with a 3.73 ERA in his career.

All Blacks clinical at Chicago exhibition

CHICAGO – New Zealand’s All Blacks made their USA rivals mostly blue Saturday, turning what was billed as a rugby exhibition into a clinic on their way to a 74-6 win.

Playing with only a handful of regulars in the starting lineup, the defending World Cup champions went ahead three minutes in on a try up the left sideline by Nathan Harris. The Golden Eagles countered with their best sustained ball possession of the entire match, repeatedly testing the center of the All-Blacks’ defense before settling for a penalty goal from Adam Siddall to close to 5-3. That was the last moment the match was competitive.

New Zealand quickly spread the field with crisp ball movement, then sent runners through the widening gaps in the middle or along the sidelines with little resistance.
