It always amazes us when an idea takes on a life of its own. A few people talking together and soon a committee forms. That’s what happened when several community members asked, “What can we do to fine-tune our 4th of July parade?” We joined with BID, and the 2014 parade will be bigger and better than ever. Requests went to more than 200 individuals, businesses and organizations asking them to submit an entry. We are excited the number of entrants has more than doubled from last year. The 2014 Stars and Stripes Parade will include a salute to our country, recognition of those who fought and continue to fight to keep our country free, music, politicians, Olympians and much more. Please join us at 6 p.m. on July 4 on Main Avenue to watch and enjoy our community’s parade.
