The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College welcomes the return of State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19 with a full-length production of the ballet Carmen. State Street Ballet is popular in Durango for its annual production of Nutcracker and an intensive ballet camp in the summer.
Inspired by Georges Bizet's popular score, State Street Ballet's Carmen is a riveting drama of love, jealousy and the hands of fate. Carmen is the story of Don Jose, a young military officer, who is drawn to the earthly charms and magnetic beauty of Carmen, the fabled temptress of Seville.
