Statewide Super Bowl DUI blitz to begin Friday

The Colorado Department of Transportation, in coordination with Colorado State Patrol and statewide law agencies, will conduct a “Heat Is On” DUI enforcement over Super Bowl weekend, from Friday to Monday to keep drunken and impaired drivers off Colorado roads.

The Colorado Department of Transportation, in coordination with Colorado State Patrol and statewide law agencies, will conduct a “Heat Is On” DUI enforcement over Super Bowl weekend, from Friday to Monday to keep impaired drivers off Colorado roads.

It will include 100 law enforcement agencies across the state.

Last year, 325 drivers were arrested during the Super Bowl DUI enforcement.

First-time DUI offenders can be punished with up to one year in jail, license suspension and steep fines. Penalties increase for repeat offenders.
