Steamworks Brewing Co. to close one day per week starting Tuesday

Residual effects of COVID-19 and its economic impacts have caused the management of Steamworks Brewing Co., which is owned by Peak Food & Beverage, to close Tuesdays beginning July 7 until further notice.

The decision was primarily forced due to a staffing shortage. The brewpub has been open seven days a week for lunch and dinner since its opening in 1996.

While Peak Food & Beverage offers compensation above minimum wage, plus a full shift meal, beverages and additional benefits such as gift cards and incentive reward, potential employees are currently amassing more on state unemployment and weekly payments from the Federal government with no need to have full-time employment.

To order “to-go” meals from Peak’s restaurants for pick-up, visit www.steamworksbrewing.com, www.elmorotavern.com or www.birdsdurango.com.

For table availability at Steamworks, call 259-9200; El Moro at 259-5555; and Bird’s at 426-4596.
