In preparation to get “back in business” as soon as possible, the restaurants of Peak Food & Beverage (Steamworks Brewing Co., El Moro Spirits and Tavern, and Bird’s) are initiating programs and working behind the scenes to support both the restaurants and ensure future employment for the 300 local employees, while also providing some services to the community in general.
Peak’s restaurants suspended take-out service at all locations until the shelter-in-place order is lifted. The management team is closely monitoring events each day and planning how and when facilities can re-open, when conditions allow. Take-out and perhaps delivery will be a big part of the restaurants’ re-openings.
Steamworks continues to sell kegs of beer, gift cards and merchandise online.
Peak Food & Beverage successfully applied for and received, via the Bank of the San Juans, funding from the SBA under its Payroll Protection Plan. The funds are intended to provide salaries, and the company hopes to hire back much of the full-time management staff. Front-line hourly and tipped workers are also forecast to be re-hired over the next several weeks. All employees covered under Peak’s health insurance have been and will continue to be covered.
