Ignacio's Tucker Ward flies to flag down a throw to second base and attempt a heads-up (pun intended) tag on Hotchkiss' Mitch McCurdy during the Class 2A-District 2 semifinals on May 9 at Delta Middle School. Ignacio elminated Meeker earlier 6 to 2 in the quarterfinals. Ward fired a seven-inning complete game, striking out 11 Cowboys, walking three and allowing just four hits. The Bobcats' luck ran out as the powerful Hotchkiss Bulldogs ran away with a 14-0, five-inning victory. IHS finished the season 6-13 overall in 2015.
