Stop saying nice things about Paul Jones

I read with interest your endorsement of Representative Barbara McLachlan for House District 59. While I agree with everything you said about her, I question your comments about her opponent.

Between Paul Jones’ web page, Facebook, interviews, town halls and debates, I have not heard one thing about an idea he wants to advance that McLachlan or someone in the Legislature has not already addressed.

He says he will be the only person working across the aisle, but every piece of legislation McLachlan passed had bipartisan support. His ideas? Crumbling infrastructure: addressed. Cost of education: addressed. Broadband: addressed. Working through Gallagher: addressed. Expanding employment internships: her bill is heading to the legislature.

He says he will stand up to Front Range pressure, but McLachlan, along with the other Western Slope legislators, have been doing that time and time again. At the Club 20 debate, he criticized her supporting making minimum wage a livable wage, yet he tells you that fixing low wages in the state is his priority.

Vote for Barbara McLachlan. She is honest, and is getting the job done.
