Sheep herd trails through Bayfield

Rain and lightning cancelled Saturday’s Bayfield Heritage Day parade and events in the park, but wet sheep just keep moving along.

Saturday morning's rain and lightning cancelled Bayfield Heritage Days activities, but the sheep trailing continued on the Buck Highway.
"You can't sto; a sheep parade," J. Paul Brown quipped as he and his son and his sheepherders brought their flock from the Wilmer Farm on County Road 501 through Bayfield, en route to the family ranch in Ignacio.
Heavy rain and lightning forced organizers to cancel the rest of the day's festivities, but they're hoping to make it up with an even better event in 2018.
