The first phase of the city of Durango’s 13th Street Storm Drain project is underway, according to a Durango Business Improvement District news release.
The project is taking place behind the Northpoint Mall, which will hinder access to the rear of the mall parking lot.
The first phase of the project is installation of storm drain piping beneath the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad tracks. The installation will occur while the train is dormant for its annual maintenance period, Oct. 27 through Nov. 14, the release said.
The full project includes replacement of the existing storm drain pipeline that runs west of the Northpoint Mall parking area to the Animas River.
