Storm hitting Tuesday

National Weather Service issuing Winter Storm Warning through Wednesday morning

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.

A winter storm is expected in the area, with four to eight inches of snow expected, according to the warning advisory from the NWS office in Grand Junction.

Winds are expected to blow at about 10 to 15 mph, but gusts could go as high as 25 mph. Visibility could be a mile or less at times due to snow and fog.

The storm warning is in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday, when the storm is expected to abate, but Wednesday still has a 50 percent chance of snow, with precipitation likely to keep falling throughout Christmas day.
