Studio & Gallery is seeking submissions for a juried exhibition with the theme “Holding Space,” asking artists to explore interpretations of the lidded jar and submit up to four pieces for consideration. The deadline to apply is June 30.
The exhibit, “Holding Space: A National Juried Exhibition Celebrating the art of the Lidded Jar,” features juror Adam Field and will be on display Aug. 15 to 23 at the gallery at 1027 Main Av.
The exhibition celebrates the enduring concept of containment in the ceramic arts, both literal and metaphorical. Open to any ceramic lidded form that “holds space.” From traditional to innovative interpretations, the gallery is seeking work that emphasizes good craftsmanship, material exploration and thoughtful consideration.
