Suggestions from reader were spot on

I concur entirely with Walt Dear’s letter to the editor (Herald, April 7), including his ideas for reducing the cost of running the paper while still providing loyal readers the local news in paper format.

Your illustrious leader, Richard Ballantine, once told me that there would always be local papers because people like to see pictures of their kids in the paper.

Walt suggests more local coverage, and I agree.

I don’t get my national or international news from the Herald, but I rely on the morning Herald to know what’s happening in my community.

Further, I don’t understand why you don’t print all of the letters to the editor, instead of providing only the headlines and directing us to the website. What my neighbors think matters to me, and I don’t want to have to log onto a website to read content.

Publishers: Please reconsider your decisions about cutting back our local newspaper.
