A suicide survivor who jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge was scheduled to speak in person Monday night at Fort Lewis College but will instead appear via livestream.
Kevin Hines was unable to make it to Durango because his plane had mechanical problems, according to a news release from FLC.
The free event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Concert Hall, as originally scheduled. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Hines jumped in 2000 after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It was a decision he instantly regretted, and since then, he has become a nationally recognized activist for mental health.
