Sunday morning without the paper

Part of my Sunday morning routine for the past 60 years has been to fetch my paper as soon as it arrives in the driveway or, after I moved to the country, walking a short distance to a newspaper box down the driveway. I would then settle in with my favorite hot beverage and dig into the pages – slowly, one at a time. Sometimes it was the box scores, other times the puzzles, and always the local news to savor.

I just learned there will no longer be a Sunday paper available on Sunday morning. Really? I also learned that a Friday “Weekend” paper would arrive by USPS to my mailbox. In my case, that is a mailbox at the post office downtown. I do not receive any mail at my home address. I am speechless.
