Knowledge, vision, fairness and determination are key attributes of an effective leader. We are fortunate in La Plata County to be represented by County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt who embodies these attributes and more.
Lachelt has demonstrated her ability to work with a variety of stakeholder groups on complex issues facing our county that offer no easy answers.
She is a good listener – a critical attribute – as that is where all constructive, collaborative efforts must start.
Lachelt is a knowledgeable, dedicated citizen and public servant who for many years has championed a balance between economic growth and environmental stewardship.
As Colorado and La Plata County are expected to see significant increases in population in the near future, we need a leader who has the vision, steady hand and perseverance to help guide our community into the future with wise, common sense planning and governing.
