Support Our Streets organizing in Bayfield

Bayfield residents have another chance in November to vote on whether a 1-percent sales tax will be added to their purchases made in town and to all others who make purchases. This tax will be collected in order to keep our town roads and drainage systems maintained now and in the future. The 1-percent increase will add one penny to each dollar spent and will be shared by all individuals who eat at our restaurants, buy tires, food, plants and all items that have a tax attached.

To promote this sales tax increase, a group of citizens have come together to raise awareness and funding to promote this increase. The Committee to Support our Streets is now taking donations to assist with banners, yard signs, brochures and flyers. Donations are being accepted by sending a check to Committee to Support our Streets, P.O. Box 721, Bayfield, 81122. Volunteers to march in the July 4 parade are needed and can call 769-6873 to participate in our campaign to keep Bayfield beautiful.
