On a recent Saturday, our La Plata County Humane Society alumna heard that Santa would be in town, and that she could have her picture taken with him and, therefore, be the envy of all her canine colleagues. Actually, she put her paw down on this one.
So, off we went, and she thought Santa was really neat as well as “The Fetching Image Pet Photography” that donated its services – with all proceeds going to the area humane society. We agreed with her on that one. By then, she was totally tuckered out and thought a nap was in order.
Then, we did something we like to do every year: Project Merry Christmas.
We chose our angel from the “Adopt an Angel” tree and set off. We visited several local stores to make our purchases, and, at one store, a clerk volunteered that she had received gifts one year from PMC, and that she really appreciated them and thanked us for doing this. Shopping for the items on their list was lots of fun and not terribly expensive.
The last day for the Angel Tree is Sunday, Dec. 14.
After this was lunch and a fine wine at one of our favorite Durango bistros where we both thought: “What a nice day.” We hope that you, too, will visit Project Merry Christmas and help a person who might not otherwise have a Merry Christmas.
