Julie Westendorff fills the bill for me of what a county commissioner of La Plata County should be. She is readily accessible and quick to produce solutions to problems.
For example, she was so helpful in addressing the problem of extreme blowing dust on the west side of the county. This problem threatened drivers on Colorado highways and county roads, including concerns for school bus traffic. Prompt follow-up resulted in meetings of county officials that led to positive changes. Our county road group also made changes to the road perimeters, aiding in prevention of further road impacts.
Any time I have asked, access to her office has been prompt and helpful. I cannot urge more strongly the re-election of Julie Westendorff as La Plata County commissioner.
