Sweeper guy makes grandson’s holiday

We live in the Riverview neighborhood, and our 3-year-old grandson, Gannon, and his parents live next door to us.

Gannon gets excited each week to see the trash trucks come by, but mostly the street sweeper truck.

The driver of this truck is named Mike. Every time he goes down the street, Gannon runs outside and waves to him. Mike never fails to wave back and honk his horn. This is the highlight of Gannon’s day.

Last week, Mike stopped by and explained how much he enjoys his weekly interactions with Gannon and handed us a wrapped Christmas gift for him. Gannon’s excitement was off the charts. He received a brand new toy excavator!

The kindness “Sweeper Guy Mike” showed to Gannon was extremely heartwarming to all of us. We just wanted to say a big thank you to him, as he made this little boy very, very happy.

Happy New Year, Mike!
