The Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau will launch a Virtual Art Walk on Friday through May 1. This virtual event is to celebrate the talent in the Farmington area, help local businesses financially hurt by recent mandatory store closures because of the novel coronavirus, connect the community and offer an alternative to the canceled Spring Art Walk, traditionally held downtown.
Photos of available artwork will be hosted online at www.farmingtonnm.org/virtual-art-walk, along with a brief artist biography, price of the piece, shipping fee and payment method options. The goal is to create a family-friendly virtual opportunity to view, learn about and purchase art from local community artists.
To keep the content fresh and changing, the FCVB will remove sold items and replace them with new pieces of art. Multiple images per artist will be displayed at any given time. This will encourage the public to visit the art walk often and see the changing virtual art gallery.
