As a part of his tax preparation service, my certified public accountant provided me with a worksheet showing the effect of the recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Using my 2017 income but applying the 2018 tax rules results in a $1,077 increase in income taxes.
Others may want to have their accountants perform the same exercise to see how they are affected before voting this November.
