The past few weeks have gotten very, very strange, and with everyone staying home to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus, we’re at a point where we could all use a little good news and something to look forward to.
Enter Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, scheduled for Sept. 18-20, which on Tuesday announced its lineup of artists.
This year will be the festival’s 27th, and on deck to perform are: Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Brittany Howard, Buddy Guy, Lukas Nelson & Promise Of The Real, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Jonny Lang and more. Along with the music that includes everything from blues, funk, indie, rock, jam band, gospel and soul, there will also be performances by stand-up comedians Troy Walker, Kyle Kinane, Candice Thompson and Jenny Zigrino.
And beer. Lots and lots of beer, which, quite frankly, sounds pretty good right now.
“When life throws you lemons, sometimes the best thing to do is make lemonade,” festival organizers said in a news release Tuesday. “Given the current situation, we looked to our fans to tell us when the time was right to announce our lineup. An overwhelming majority of respondents voted to hear some positive news.”
Organizers said in the release they are committed to the health and well-being of festival-goers, and they will continue to monitor conditions right up to the day of the festival.
“Do your best to stay positive, stay healthy, while staying home as much as possible,” the festival said. “We are all in this together, and we hope to see you this September for an incredible celebration of live music, craft beer, mountains and life.”
