The Smelter parking lot to the Durango Dog Park will be temporarily closed during the week of July 22.
The Bureau of Reclamation announced Thursday it will be working on a fencing project at the Durango Pumping Plant to remove temporary construction fence and replace it with permanent security fence.
When work starts on the west side of the fence, Bureau of Reclamation spokeswoman Justyn Liff said there will be a temporary closure of pedestrian traffic from the Smelter parking lot to the Durango Dog Park Off-Leash Area.
“While the area is closed for fencing, the Highway 160 entrance to the dog park will remain open,” she said. “Once construction is completed on the west side of the fence, the trail will reopen.”
